Los Abuelos Caracoles is a family company with almost 40 years of experience in the industry.  It was founded by Francisco Berbel Hernández, who back in the mid-seventies delivered live snails in the mountains of Cordoba.  The need to find more merchandise and to meet the demands of his customers led him to stop being just a delivery person and become an exporter. Since then, decades of hard work has made him a knowledgeable expert in the world of snails.  The company name is a tribute to the founder’s grandparents; humble people who raised him through hard work and love, and helped him become the entrepreneur he is today.

In the late nineties his sons joined the family business and the company began its expansion and modernisation, adapting to the new business and regulatory frameworks. The growth has been steady and exponential.

Currently, Los Abuelos Caracoles is the leading company in Spain in exports and sales of live, deep-frozen and cooked snails, capable of processing 3,000,000 kilos of snails every year.
